Vanessa L. Allen, 30, Superior, formerly of Chapel Hill, NC, died Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Essentia Health, St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.
Services were held Friday, March 25, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Superior, with Rev. Gary Garnatz will officiating.
Vanessa was born June 17, 1985, in Duluth to Douglas and Diane (Gokey) Allen. She graduated from Superior High School in 2003 and attended the University of Wisconsin, Superior, and the University of Minnesota, Morris. She was a restaurant manager for the Chapel Hill Restaurant Group in North Carolina for eight years and moved back to Superior where she was a restaurant manager for Tavern on the Hill, Duluth.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Gregory and Betty Gokey; paternal grandparents, Charles, Sr. and Alice Allen; and uncles, Charles and Daniel Gokey, and Stephen Peterson.
