George Hudson (Hud) Andrews, Jr., age 67, of Memphis, passed away suddenly at home on March 18, 2016. A lifelong Memphian, Hud graduated from Christian Brothers High School and Southwestern at Memphis (Rhodes College) with Honors as a proud Phi Beta Kappa. Upon completion of his Master of Science in Psychology from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, he taught briefly in the Memphis City Schools. Following his dream as a professional photographer for 35 years, Hud was a nationally recognized, award winning artist, educator, and business owner. Through local, state and international professional photography organizations, He freely gave of his knowledge, experience and time to those who shared his passion for photography. Retiring from photography in 2007, Hud worked for benefit of others through Rhodes College, Memphis University School, and SRVS. Married to artist Angela Goza for 18 years, Hud is also survived by his mother Oma Andrews Marler, son George Hudson Andrews III (Rachel) and daughter Amy Murphy (Chris) and grandchildren Gwen and Magness. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 24 at Canale Funeral Directors, 2700 Union Ave Extended. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25 in the chapel of Canale Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Rhodes College Scholarship Fund or the Memphis and Shelby County Humane Society.
