Former Resident Passes Away at Lincoln
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Deckard have returned from Lincoln where they were called to attend the funeral of his daughter, Mrs. Mandie Deckard Bunzel. She was born in Green county, Indiana and later with her parents moved to Mount Carmel, where she grew to womanhood. At the age of 18 she entered the sanitarium at Lincoln as a nurse. At that place she met Mr. August Bunzel, and later was married to him. To this union three children were born, Charles Robert, age 3 years, August Paul, age 18 months, and infant daughter, 4 days, who passed away the same day with her mother.
She departed this life Feb. 17, 1920, and was laid to rest in the cemetery at Lincoln. She united with the Christian Church at the age of 10 years. She was a kind wife and a loving mother and will be greatly missed.
She leaves to mourn her departure, besides the husband and children, a father, Charles Deckard, of this city, and two brothers, Claud Deckard, of Mount Carmel, and Andy Deckard, of Terre Haute, Ind.; one sister, Miss Golda Deckard, of Lancaster, Ill., and many other relatives and a host of friends.
