ROGER LYNN MERRILL
Roger Lynn Merrill, 62, passed away on April 13, 2008 at the Hospice Care Center at McKee in Loveland. He was born June 27, 1945 in Warsaw, New York to LaVerne and Geraldine (Whitmore) Merrill. Roger graduated from Warsaw High School in 1963. It is said that him and three others still hold the record set back in 1962 for the 880 yard relay. He was active in football, track, wrestling, baseball, bowling, and was vice-president of the student council. He served in the US Army between 1967 and 1969.Roger began working at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York at the age of 18 and transferred with Kodak to Windsor, CO in December of 1970. He was an Automated Equipment Mechanic until he retired in 1992 after 29 years. He enjoyed playing cards with his grandson, having his daily coffee time with Doyle, and solving goofy trivia problems brought on by questions.Roger is survived by his daughter Angela and husband Randy Keaton of Pavilion, NY and their children Jeremiah and Grace; his son Thomas and wife Lynette Merrill of Loveland, CO and their children Morgan and wife Stephanie, Paige and Sierra; his daughter Katherine and husband Scott of Loveland, CO and their children Miranda, Chris, Matt, Michael and Mallorie; and Roger's great-grandson Aidenn "little man"; brother Gerald "Sonny" and wife Mary of Warsaw, NY; sister Barbara Ewell of Florida; brother James and wife Diane of Silver Springs, NY; sister-in-law Patricia Merrill of Batavia, NY; brother Donald of Warsaw, NY; sisters Lori and Charlotte of Warsaw, NY; many nieces and nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents LaVerne and Geraldine Merrill; brother David Merrill; brother Norman "Butch" Merrill; brother-in-law Vincent Ewell and grandson Dylan Keaton.Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 26 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County or McKee Medical Center in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S. Hwy 287, Ft. Collins, CO. 80525.
