Funeral services for Melynda Dozier Cowan, 51, of Butler will be held Wed., Mar. 23, 2016 at 4 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Butler with Rev. Jeremy Sorrells and Rev. Franklin McLelland officiating. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at the church at 2 P.M. prior to the service.

Mrs. Cowan passed away Sunday, March 20th at Rush Hospital in Meridian. She was a school teacher at Patrician Academy.

Survivors include her husband James W. Cowan, II of Butler, AL; son James William "Jay" Cowan, III of Butler, AL; daughter Olivia Claire Cowan of Butler, AL; brothers Kirk Dozier (Melissa) of Chance, AL; Brad Dozier of Chance, AL; sister Karen Wright (Dan) of Jasper, AL; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends Wayne and Lanelle Turner.

She was preceded in death by her parents Manah Dozier, Jr. and Linda Otts Dozier.
