George was born in Virginia in 1854. He married Bettie in Virginia in 1882. They had 3 sons....Oscar born in September of 1880, Luther Amos born in March of 1884 and Robert S. born in September of 1891. Bettie died in Middleway, WV of pneumonia on March 17, 1920. George died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on January 2, 1924, also in Middleway WV. Bettie and George are buried side by side in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, WV in a plot purchased by Robert at the time of his mother's death. There are no markers. Bettie and George were my great grandparents. My mother, Hazel Virginia Dennis Kemp, was the youngest daughter of their oldest son, Oscar.
