L N Abbott was a tin Smith in Clarksville, Texas. On the 15th June 1861, he enlisted in Gould's Company, Texas State Cavalry (Clarksville Light Infantry).(This was from RED RIVER COUNTY, TEXAS IN THE CIVIL WAR page 1 Compiled by Carolyn Reeves Ericson & Joe Ellis Ericson) On his 1870 & 1880 RRCo Census, a daughter was listed as M H Abbott born abt 1860. On his Obit: CLARKSVILLE TIMES 5 Jan 1967 '60 Years Ago' L N Abbott conducted a gun and repair shop on Depot Street for many years, died Sunday night after a illness of but a few days. A daughter in the Territory and a sister in another portion of this state are his only surviving relatives. The deceased was known to practically everybody in Red River county and was highly esteemed by all. Most of this came from Burial, Cemetery and Death Records for Red River County, Texas thru 31 Dec 2004, Volume 1, page 1, Compiled, Edited and Published by Lawrence and Sue Dale
