Mrs. Ben (Ioyne) Anderson, 86, Groton, died at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, September 2, 1996. the funeral was held September 5 at the First Presbyterian Church in Groton with the Rev. Gerald Rife officiating. Burial was in the Groton Union Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-
Garness Funeral Chapel of Groton.

A prayer service and Order of the Eastern Star Rites by Diana Chapter #83 was held Wednesday evening at the funeral chapel.

Iyone Buethe was born October 28, 1909 at Paynesville, Minn. Her parents were August and Edna (Feeter) Buethe. She grew up at Paynesville and attended elementary school and graduated from Paynesville High School. She attended St. Cloud State College at St. Cloud for three years and received a teaching certificate. She then taught elementary school in Sisseton and in Veblen. She taught music and history in high school at Olivia, Minn. She married Ben A. Anderson at Nashua, Iowa, June 11, 1938. They made their home at Blue Earth, Minn. for one year and then moved to Forest City, Iowa, for four years. Then they lived at Atlanta, Iowas for one year. They moved to Groton in 1945 where Ben took over his father's farm and they had lived there since that time. She substitute taught in Groton for many years.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Groton and had been the church organist for many years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Women, the Order of the Eastern Star Diana Chapter #83, and was a past matron of Diana Chapter. She acted as the organist for Diana Chapter and she had acted as the organist of the Grand Chapter of South Dakota OES. She was a member of the Merifu Club and an accomplished musician and wrote the music and words to songs for many special occasions.

She is survived by her husband, Ben Anderson, Groton; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Janet Anderson, Groton; one daughter and son-in-law, Jon and Mary Allsop, Friday Harbor, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Myron (June) Nelson, Sisseton, and Mrs. Harold (Joan) Letterly, San Bernadino, Calif.; one grandson, three granddaughters, and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

The casketbearers were Terry Cutler, Jerroll Erdmann, Bob Rae, Earl Ruden, Clayton Sternhagen and Norman Townsand. Arliss Alberts was the organist and the church choir sang. The ushers were Wayne Quiggle and John Clark.
