Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Bay Springs City Cemetery in Bay Springs, MS with burial to follow. Bro. James Sprayberry will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
Jean and her late husband James owned the Minit Mart in Bay Springs until their retirment in 1986. In retirment, Jean enjoyed fishing, cross-stitching and spending time with her family. She was loved very much by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by parents, Charlie Ashley and Bennie Morgan Ashley; her husband, James Curtis Bishop and a daughter, Jeannie Gail Bishop.
Survivors include her children, James Charlie Bishop (Peggy Waites Bishop), Bay Springs, MS and Karen Bishop, Bay Springs, MS; grandchildren, Felicity DeSha Strickland (Cody), Bay Springs, MS and Emily Bishop, Bay Springs, MS; great grandchildren, Cody Clark, Caleb Dakoda Strickland, Dylan Strickland and Hayden Strickland and her sister, Nettie Ashley Carl (Thomas), Mobile, AL.
