WORLD WAR 1 VETERAN.
Clyde was born on Jones Island in the Manning Valley near Taree. A farmer, he enlisted into the AIF at West Maitland on the 27th january, 1916 at the age of 23 & 9 months. He served in the 1st pioneer battalion. His service # is 2124. He served in France on the western front and was wounded by a shotgun to the forearm in january 1917. He was discharged from service on the 14th august 1919. His ashes are in the memorial garden section of dawson river cemetery.
