Alexander Hamilton Parker was born to Matthew Arnold and Mary Isabelle Isaacks Parker on January 12, 1837 in the Republic of Texas. His grandfather Jesse Parker was a soldier, pioneer and early Texas colonist and his father Matthew was an early Sabine County settler and official. Matthew was appointed chief justice of Sabine County by President Sam Houston in 1836. Alexander was ninth of twelve children and his siblings are: Mahala, Jesse, Morris, Perry, Wiley, Washington, Andrew, Sarah, Willis, Amanda, and Mary. After being widowed, Alexander's father married a second time and the other siblings are Rebecca Susan and Isaac.
On October 7, 1858, Alexander married Maryann Elizabeth Caddell, in Rusk, Nacodoches County, Texas. Together they had seven children: Mary "Molly" Columbine, Jefferson Davis, Sarah Brooxie, Alexander Jackson, William Houston, Erie Jane and Franklin Lafayette. In the Census, Alexander and his family were farmers. He lost his wife in 1900. In 1902, Alexander had to bury his son Franklin and in 1903 he had to bury his lovely daughter Sarah Brooxie. In the 1900 Census, Alexander was living close to William Houston, his son.
At the age of 79, Alexander Hamilton Parker passed away in Lengleville, Erath County, Texas.
