Madelyn B. Barnhart, age 88 of Port Huron died Sunday, November 4, 2007 in her home. She was born on January 26, 1919 in Port Huron daughter of the late Earl and Agnes (Pickett) Avery. Madelyn married Clay Barnhart on March 4, 1948. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1994.

She was a life member of Charles Schoor V.F.W #796 ladies auxiliary, American Legion Charles Hammond Post #8 ladies auxiliary and 8&40 Salon 428.

Madelyn is survived by her children, Bobby (Judy) Barnhart of Lexington; Richard (Kathy) Barnhart of Rock Cave, WV; William (Hermelene) Barnhart of Kingsland, GA and Linda (Wayne) Carter of Port Huron; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law Beulah Leek of O'Fallon, IL and Ethyl Avery of Jeddo.

She was preceded in death by hers sister, Bina Hamilton; twin sister, Marion Hyde; brothers, Orrin and Ray Avery and grandson Bobby J. Barnhart.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Chaplain Burt Davis of Heartland Hospice will officiate. Visiting hours are 2:30-9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
