Margaret Raxter Orr, 86, of Brevard, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Brookdale Asheville Walden Ridge. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Elza and Reba McGaha Raxter. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, James Lewis Orr; her sisters Agnes R. Henderson, Alma R. Raxter, Clara R. Grant, Maude R. Vaughn, Nadine R. Ashe; and brothers Calvin Raxter, Alvin Raxter and Condon Raxter.
Margaret was a talented crafter and was affectionately known as "The Pot-Holder Lady" by many at the Transylvania County Tail Gate Market. She was also a long-time member of the Transylvania County Handcrafters Guild.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Kate O. Neckolaishen and husband Gary, son James Orr and his partner Vickie Queen. She had three grandsons and a great-grandson all of which she adored: Forrest Orr (Rachel), Dustin Orr and Gabriel Neckolaishen and great-grandson Wesley Orr. Her surviving siblings are Jeraldine R. Paxton, Perry Raxter, Preston Raxter, Walter Raxter and Laura R. Green.

Funeral Services for Margaret Orr will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Moore-Blanchard Funeral Home with Rev. Dean West Officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
