Daughter of Frederick and Mary Ann (Robinson) Moxhon.

In 1898, she was a teacher at the Westminster Seminary at Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

28 Aug 1901, she married Thomas M. Bigelow, a civil war veteran, who died the following month.

In 1908, she married Albert A. Newman, owner of the Chicago Clock Company. After his death in 1917, she continued to manage the company until her death.
