WELDON M. d'ALLEMAND

Weldon M. d'Allemand, 90, of Arapahoe died March 19, 2000 at his home.

Funeral services were held March 23, 2000 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at Arapahoe. Father Ray Griebe officiated. The Masonic rites were a part of the service.

Mr. d'Allemand was born July 7, 1909 to Alfred and Emma (Gregory) d'Allemand. He graduated from the Arapahoe High School and later enlisted in the Naval Reserves, then enlisted in the United State Navy where he served four years during WWII and was a Chief Petty Officer in Radar Communications. After his discharge he made his home in Boise, Idaho.

Later he moved to Denver, Colo. where he worked at Stapleton International Airport tower in radar communications. He retired to Arapahoe where he lived until his death.

Mr. D'Allemand was a life-long member of the Episcopal Church, the Masonic Lodge and Shrine, the Furnas County Historical Society and the American Legion. His hobby has always been working with the "Ham" Radio Operators Group, which is always helpful in time of disaster. The American Legion honored him with full military rites at the cemetery.

Thelma Lang was presented with the American flag which had covered his casket and was also given a Bible honoring his service 'to God and Country.'

Survivors besides his sister, Thelma Lang, are nieces, Mrs. Claudette (Sayers) Crie of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Jane (d'Allemand) Humphrey of Lincoln, Mrs. Annette (d'Allemand) Webber of Dillion, S.C. and nephews, Jack Jones of Denver, Colo. and Gene d'Allemand of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.Squirt was born to Alfred and Emma d'Allemand. He grew up in Arapahoe, Nebraska and graduated from Arapahoe High School with the class of 1929. He served in World War II in the Navy. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Arapahoe and of the Arapahoe Masonic Lodge, Shrine Club and other masonic organizations. Survivors include a sister, Thelma Lang of Litchfield, Nebraska.
