Billy Gene Lipsey, 66, of Hewitt, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 1, at Bellmead Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 2, at Rosemound cemetery with Pastor Reggie Blake officiating.

Billy was born in Waco, Texas, to Billy Ray and Lillie Mae (Fuller) Lipsey. He graduated from La Vega High School in 1967 and McLennan Community College and attended Texas A&M University until being drafted into the U.S. Army. He served during the Vietnam War. He then worked at Marathan Norco Aerospace for over 15 years. Billy enjoyed plants and wood working and loved chickens. He was a member of Timbercrest Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Lipsey; daughters: Christie Hughes, Jennifer Lipsey and Syndi Espinosa; grandchildren: Jillian, Christopher and Aayliah; his mother, Lil Lipsey; sisters, Larraine Turner and husband, Curtis, and Betty Brannon and husband, Harold; brother, Jimmy Lipsey and wife, Tessie; and several nieces and nephews
