After completing high school in Lawrenceville, Gladys worked at the bank as a bookkeeper and a teller. She married the Reverend Hoyt W Henderson and became the step-mother of Harriet Prater McDonald. Gladys was a resident of Powder Springs for 19 years and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
