Born to Christine and Jacob Genzlinger September 10, 1862 in Yonkers, New York, Louise was the oldest of their five daughters. Louise married Reverend Henry Mueller in 1887. She was a life-long companion, and Henry often paid high tribute to this consecrated Lady of the Manse. "Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."

"Lady of the Manse"

by Nora Beth Main

Few know the heart of her who chose a way
Requiring courage and ability . . .
And sharing others' griefs, to live each day
As though the living patterned easily.
To wear a gracious manner and sincere,
No matter what the anguished hours contain.
To be content with those who are quite near,
And be a friend to all in her domain.

Along this path she would keep pace with him,
Share countless happy problems, all his woe;
Be teacher, leader, counselor . . . must know
How precious are the frivolous, the grim.
Ah yes, and more ... quite unperturbed she sighs,
God's own would never have it otherwise!
