Irma “Imy” Lindsey, 94, a resident of rural Geneva, IN, died on April 1, 2016 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She had been ill for 2 years. She was born December 3, 1921to Herbert and Alice (Rowe) Booher of Bluffton.

Her marriage to Grant Lindsey, who survived, took place May 10, 1941 at a neighbor’s home. The home they moved into on their wedding night; was built by a great-grandfather in 1866, just after the Civil War. The couple has lived in this home for almost 75 years.

Imogene helped her husband farm for many years, and also worked at CTS for 16 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and First United Methodist Church in Geneva.

Preceding her in death were her parents: Herbert and Alice (Rowe) Booher of Bluffton, two sisters: Mrs. Charlotte Gooley of Huntington and Mrs. Violet Helms of Goliad, TX, one brother: William Booher of Bluffton; and two great-great-grandchildren: Jacoby and Lilliann.

Imogene is survived by her husband of 74 years: Grant Lindsey; one son: John Lindsey of Geneva; two daughter: Ellen Kay Hobson of Dunkirk, IN/Georgia and Dianne Schwartz of Summerfield, FL, 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, Noah.

Friends may call at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home 100 N. Washington St. Geneva on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 1:00PM-3:00PM. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00PM with Pastor Michele Ish officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva.
