HERMAN LIEDTKE

Herman Leidtke (sic), 79
, retired foreman of the water service department of
the Municipal Water & Electric utility at Two Rivers, died unexpectedly of a
heart attack at the Union House, Two Rivers, Saturday night, where he had made
his home for a number of years.
Funeral services will be held at the Klein & Stangel Inc., Funeral Chapel, Two
Rivers, at 3 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. M. J. Roehrdanz officiating. Interment will
be in Pioneers Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers.
Herman Leidtke was born in West Prussia, Germany, in 1874, a son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Frederick Leidtke. When he was seven years old the family brought him
to this country, settling in Michigan. Fifty-seven years ago he married the
former Charlotte Trombley at East Lake, Mich., the family coming to Two Rivers
in 1900. Mrs. Leidtke died in Two Rivers in 1938.
Mr. Leidtke was first employed at the Hamilton Manufacturing Company, Two Rivers,
where he was a department head for a number of years. In 1922 he entered the
employe of the municipal utility at Two Rivers and was foreman of the water
service department up to his retirement in June of 1951.
Surviving Mr. Leidtke are five daughters, Mrs. Edward Stedl of Manitowoc, Mrs.
Algot Kollberg of Memorial Drive, Mrs. Harvey Ruck of Norwalk, Wis., and Mrs.
John Koenes and Mrs. Alma Ripple of Milwaukee; a brother, Frederick Liedtke of
Two Rivers; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home until the time of services.
