Obituary, The Oklahoman, August 5, 2000
Reafa Ablah aka Eva Ablah was born on February 12, 1908, in Juidet, Marjayoun, Lebanon. She was the youngest of four daughters and one son of Salem Samara and Salema Zorba. She died on August 3, 2000. She immigrated to the United States of America with her mother, sisters and brother, arriving on September 20, 1920, from Lebanon. She, her mother, sisters and brother joined their father in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who had emigrated from Lebanon to the United States earlier, prior to the outbreak of World War I. This caused a separation of the family from the father, who was in the United States, during the period of World War I. She met Mitchell M. Ablah in Oklahoma City, where they both resided, and married him on October 31, 1926. He predeceased her in 1979. She was a member of St. Elijah Orthodox Church. Survivors are son, George M. Ablah and wife Joy; granddaughters, Dr. Rochelle E. Ablah and Charlotte A. Ablah; grandsons, Mitchell J. Ablah and wife, Judy, and George M. Ablah, Jr.; sister, Ramza Samara. Memorials may be made to St. Elijah Orthodox Church to "Flowers That Do Not Wither Fund" or charity of one's choice. Services are at St. Elijah Orthodox Church on August 4, at 7:00 p.m. for the Trisagion and on August 5, at St. Elijah Orthodox Church for the closing of the casket at 11:00 a.m. and funeral services at 11:30 a.m. with Father Nasr and Father Basil officiating and a meal of mercy served thereafter.
