He married Gertrude Earle Burchell on September 12, 1934 in Rockville Center, New York. A little over a year later they welcomed their only child, Thomas Edward Fox who was born on November 17, 1935 in Oceanside, New York. Although they wanted more children they were only able to have one. Thomas worked various jobs, including at his father-in laws Drug store on Sunrise Hwy in the Freeport/Baldwin area. He was a member of St. Marks church in Rockville Centre. Thomas died unexpectedly at the young age of 40 from a heart attack. His death devastated his son, from which he never recovered.
