At the advanced age of 87 years, Adam Hunter, one of New Castle's eldest residents, died Saturday evening shortly before midnight, his death occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. L. Conn, 1117 West State street. He had been in ill health for several years, and death was not entirely unexpected.

Mr. Hunter was a member of the United Brethren church. He was a man of many excellent traits, and was well known and liked. Two children survive him. They are Mrs. Clarence Newman of Mt. Clemens, Mich., and Mrs. A. L. Conn, at whose home he died. He leaves also a sister, Mrs. John Amon of Raymilton, Pa., a brother, Alvin Hunter of Jamestown, and another sister, Miss Marilla Hunter also of Jamestown.

The funeral services will be held at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Conn. 1117 West State street, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
