The death of Gertrude A. Thrasher occurred at her cottage home on the west side of last Saturday morning at nine o'clock. Although it was known that she had been in poor health for many months, her death came unexpectedly, and was indirectly caused by internal hemorrhages. She was born in Livingston County, Illinois in 1874, and was 28 years of age. Gertrude, as she was familiarly known, was a devout Christian, a true and grateful daughter, a loyal and devoted wife, a tender and loving sister and in her death, she leaves a husband, son, father, mother, one sister, four brothers and a host of friends to mourn her untimely departure. The funeral occurred at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Christian church, Rev. Rickoff of Marion, officiating. Interment took place at the Rees cemetery. The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
F. McCloud and wife of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Buckingham, Ill., A. Myers of Cabery, Ill., Mrs. Skinner of Lockport, Ill., and W. McCloud of Plattville Ill., were those who attended the funeral here from a distance.
