Douglas S. Bruce, 80, of the town of Auburn, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at his home.
He was born on February 22, 1926, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Carroll and Dorothy (Dings) Bruce, and on December 28, 1973, he was united in marriage to Ruth Flynn Jensen at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Franklin.
Doug proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines and the U. S. Army during World War II and was employed by Wisconsin Electric for almost 40 years. He was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ruth; four children, Shirley (Richard) Schulz of Nashua, New Hampshire, William (Nancy) Jensen of West Bend, Jolee (Paul) Hoffmann of Port Washington and Elaine (Keith) Springer of the town of Auburn; two sisters, Carol Landry of Wind Lake and Edith Landry of Burlington; a sister-in-law, Jean (Richard) Ziebell of Montello; eight grandchildren, Stacy and Kevin Schulz, Adam Jensen, Marc, Jamie and Matthew Hoffmann, Shannon and Nichole Springer; three great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Doug was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Robert Landry and Howard Landry.

Note: Douglas was the son of Carroll Orlo Bruce and Dorothy Donnah Dings. Carroll died on 16 Feb 1985 in De Soto County, Florida. It is not known where he is buried.
The children listed above were actually step-children. They were the children of Ruth Flynn, his wife and her first husband Leo Jensen. Douglas and Ruth had no children of their own as far as is known.
