Esther M. Goehring, age 82, of 136 E Wilson St. Valders, was called to eternal rest on Tuesday morning, April 5, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 20, 1934 in School Hill, daughter of the late Mathew and Margaret (Endries) Binversie. Esther attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in School Hill and Kiel High School. On September 12, 1959 she married the love of her life John Goehring at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in School Hill. Together they owned and operated Goehring's Bar for eight years; then operated Val-View Acres Dairy Farm for 22 years, as well as 15 years of harness racing. Esther enjoyed baking, volunteering, card playing, occasional trips to the casino, Packers, Brewers and spending time with family and friends. But above all she was the #1 fan of her 8 grandchildren's sports throughout the years.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years: John Goehring, Valders; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Kim and Tom Alfson, Valders, Connie and Marcus Bartelme, Valders, Kathy Meisner and special friend Jeff Troullier, Kiel; one son and daughter-in-law: Brian and Kelly Goehring, Newton; eight grandchildren: Lane (Kimberly) Alfson, Ryan (Brittany) Alfson, Dana Alfson (special friend Jared Good), Brandon Meisner (special friend Callie Milton), Ashley Meisner, Brooke Goehring, Austin Goehring, Nathan Goehring; 7 great grandchildren: Alexis, Abigail, Taylor, Genevieve, Charllotte, Griffin, Oakley; one sister and brother-in-law: Hedwig and Richard Vogel, Green Bay; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Salvadore Binversie, School Hill, Ralph Binversie, Valders, Mary Binversie, School Hill; three brothers-in-Law and sisters-in-law: Carol and Ruth Goehring, Clarks Mills, Carl and Doris Goehring, Whitelaw, Nancy and Dale Cherney, Howards Grove. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law; an infant brother and infant sister; one sister and brother-in-law; three brothers and sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; two nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM noon on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen with burial to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Clarks Mills.
