Braun, Eugene "Yutch" G.

Eugene G. "Yutch" Braun, age 88, a Manitowoc resident, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 5, 2016 surrounded by his family.

Yutch was born on July 1, 1927 in Manitowoc, son of the late John and Laura (Grall) Braun. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. He served with the United States Army Air Corps and was stationed in Italy and Germany after WWII. Yutch played football with the Manitowoc Braves and the Manitowoc Chiefs. On May 30, 1959 he married the former Dorothy Sheehan at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2007. He was a land surveyor for over 45 years and was also part owner of Brey, Stuewe & Braun. Yutch loved taking his grandchildren to Late's and attending all of their sports events. He and Dorothy enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Yutch enjoyed putzing at English Lake and spending time with extended family at the cabin up north. He was a longtime member of the YMCA, Manitowoc County Fish & Game and many other organizations.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: David and Julie Braun, Paul and Deb Braun; four grandchildren: Carley, Lizzy, Alex and Brenna, all of Manitowoc; and one brother and sister-in-law: Jerome and Darlene Braun, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by an infant sister: Mary; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold and Katie Braun, Clemens and Marianne Braun; and one brother-in-law: Dr. Robert (Leatrice) Sheehan.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Military rites will be accorded by the VFW Otto Oas Post #659.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Yutch's name.

Yutch had a good life and he really enjoyed it, he will be sadly missed.
