Michael Fry was the son of Johann Heinrich "Henry" Fry and Elizabeth Morris Fry. He married his 1st cousin, Sarah "Sally" Fry in Stokes, NC on 17 Jan 1813. Shortly after their marriage, they followed his brothers John and Henry Harrison Fry to Old Lynnville, Giles County, TN. He and family are found on the 1820-1840 Federal Census in Giles, TN. They re-located most of their family to Cherokee County, Texas before the 1850 Federal Census.
Their children were:
1. Francis Fry (1813-1856) md. Emaline Reynolds. Francis served in the Texas Revolution. Both died in Texas and only child, Sam Houson Fry died shortly afterward.
2. John M Fry (1814-1874) md. Rebecca Brintle. They remained in Tennessee.
3. Richard "Dick" Fry (1816-unknown)
4. William Wiley Fry (1817-1880) md. Agnes S. Lawrence. They both died in Texas.
5. Mary Polina "Polly" Fry (1815-1873) md. Rev. Carroll Morris. They remained in Tennessee--died in Illinois.
6. Jesse Valentine Fry (1820-1875) md. Esther P. Lawrance. They lived and died in Arkansas.
7. Caroline J. Fry (1825-1874) md. Arthur J. Davis, 2nd--Henry H. Garvin. Deaths were in Texas.
8. Joseph Marion Fry (1828-1875) md. Mary Ann Leath (TX)
9. Sarah Almanda Fry (1830-1880) md. James F. Wise. They both died in Wise, Texas.
10. Andrew Jackson Fry (1832-unknown)-No known spouse.
11. Lebanon Leberton Fry (1834-1881)TX. Never married.
12. Martin V Fry (1836-1862)--Possibly died in Civil War.
13. Clementine C. Fry (1838-1868) md. Jesse Wood Watson. Both died in Texas, leaving 5 orphaned children behind.
