Jeffrey Alan Adams, 33, entered into eternal life Saturday, June 4, 2011 at his home.Jeff was born August 5, 1977, in Enid Oklahoma. He graduated from Alva Oklahoma High School in 1995 and attended Grayson County College. Jeff proudly served his country in the United Stated Marines as a Landing Support Specialist and was decorated with the Sea Service Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and Expert Rifle badge. Jeff was also elected Marine of the Month during his military career. He was on the varsity football team all four years in high school. He was also active in Vo-Tech and the Agriculture programs at Alva High School. Jeff enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors. Jeff was an avid supporter of the Denison Little League. Jeff loved life, his family and friends and never met a stranger. He attended St. Patrick Church and sought goodness and religious understanding for himself and his children. Jeff was employed by Volt Services and had spent the past year at Texas instruments. Jeff will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.Jeff is survived by his beloved family. His three children, Kaleb Wade, Shaiann Maurine, Hunter Michael; and their mother Amanda Dodd Clark. He adored his children, they were the joy of his life. Also surviving are his mother, Martha Maurine Allen Washburn; one sister, Jana Michelle Birenbaum, her husband Marc, and their children Zachary and Megan of Charlotte, NC.; one brother, John Gary Adams and his wife Janet, and their children, William, Samuel, and Jason of Lamar, Co.; grandmother, Myrtle Allen "Nanny" of Denison, TX, several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. Jeff had a host of friends spanning the world; he grew up with a group of young men here in Denison Texas that became more like brothers to him than just friends. Chris Jones, Chris Robinson, Todd Fox, Rick Browder, Kevin Keith, and Steve Wigington. Sarah Dollery was Jeff's best friend and soul mate. She loved Jeff and his children as much as any person possibly could.Jeff was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Wade Adams; step-father "Dad", Timothy Wayne "Cowboy" Washburn; and grandfather, Dillard Allen.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with military honors. Elmer Robinson will be officiating with eulogies delivered by Chris Robinson and Chris Jones. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Jeff will be cremated for a United States Military Burial at Sea according to his wishes. Jeff's wish for Burial at Sea was completed on October 22, 2017.The ceremony took place on the deck of the USS NORMANDY (CG 60) at 1300 hours in the afternoon. Conforming to Naval tradition the ship was stopped with colors displayed at half mast, and the participating Officers and crew were paraded in full dress uniform. The afternoon was warm with moderate winds and seas. Under these favorable conditions, at Latitude 27 degrees North and Longitude 77 degrees West, Jeff's ashes were committed to the deep. The religious and military aspects of the ceremony were conducted with dignity and solemnity. Captain D.A. Trinque was the military Commander for the Ceremony. Chaplain LT Mike Wise presided over the religious ceremony and the committal. The rifle squad, urn bearer, color guard, and honor guard were formed from the crew of the NORMANDY.
