Eugene W. Abston, 66, of 27 North 15th Street, a rooming house proprietor, died at 6:45 o'clock yesterday morning in Birmingham, Ala., from a cerebral hemorrhage sustained last Wednesday while visiting relatives in Birmingham. The body will be forwarded to Belleville for burial.
Mr. Abston was born in Coling, Ala., July 28, 1883 and was a son of the late Davis and Rachael Abston, nee Merchant.
He is survived by his widow, Cora, five children: H. E. Abston of Nashville, Tenn., Cojeanne, wife of Vincent Schuhardt, 1800 East A Street, Margaret, wife of Carl Reichling, 25a South 14th Street, Mrs. Patricia Beyer, 27 North 15th Street and Ann, wife of Dwight Moody, 1412 West Main Street; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Siegel of Mt. Blockton, Ala.; and a brother, Monroe Abston of Phoenix, Ariz.
Funeral services from Peter Gaerdner Funeral Home but other arrangements are incomplete. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Monday.
