Val Raymond Ness, this place, a veteran of World War I, died yesterday at the Veterans Hospital, Coatesville, following an illness of many weeks. Death was due to a complication of diseases. Mr. Ness son of the late Pius and Elizabeth J. Wilt Ness of York, was a private first class in World War I and saw service in Italy. He was a charter member of William Naus Post 143 American Legion, New Cumberland. Surviving are: His wife, Mrs. Emma Kahler Ness (whom he married February 10, 1923); two sisters, Mrs. C. K. Johnston, Bladensburg, Md and Mrs. Katherine Williams, York. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday at the Kahler residence here. The Rev. J. S. Bishop, pastor of the Oberlin Lutheran Church and the Rev. S. F. Vance, pastor of Goldsboro Church of God will officiate. Interment will be in Paddletown Cemetery.
