Charlotte was born about 1828 in Whitley County, Kentucky to William Ball (1791-1877) and Charlotte "Lottie" (May) Ball (1791-1863). She married Andrew Russell Davenport Sr (1830-1896) in Whitley County. From the Census Records in 1850, Charlotte, age 22 and Andrew, age 20, were living in Whitley County with their son Simon, age 1. In 1860 they were living in Whitley County on the Cumberland River with four children: Simon, age 10; July A, age 6; Mary J, age 4; and Zion, age 1.

In 1862 Andrew enlisted with the Union Army at Camp Burnside, Kentucky with Company E, Kentucky 32nd Infantry Regiment.

In 1870 Charlotte and Andrew were living in Gatlinburg, Sevier County, Tennessee with five of their six children: Simon, age 20; Julia A, age 16; Zion, age 10; Morrison, age 8; and Marion, age 3.

Charlotte must have died shortly after the 1870 Census Record, because a Tennessee State Marriage Record shows Andrew R Davenport marrying Mary Ann Whaley on 26 Aug 1871 in Sevier County, Tennessee.

Charlotte (Ball) Davenport's grave is unknown. She is probably in an unmarked grave in Gatlinburg, Sevier County, Tennessee.
