Mrs. Raynor, GR Resident 80 Years, Dies
Mrs. Anna E. Raynor, resident here 80 years and member of the family for which Calkins Ave. is the namesake, died Saturday morning. She was 88.
Mrs. Raynor was living with a daughter, Mrs. Alleen R. Atkinson of 2200 Leonard St., NW., at the time of her death. A native of London, Mrs. Raynor came to Grand Rapids when she was 8. Her family -- the William E. Calkins family -- established a home where the Trinity Methodist Church is located.
A member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, she had belonged to the Ladies' Literary Club and the St. Cecilia Society.
Surviving besides Mrs. Atkinson are another daughter, Mrs. Roy Sherman of Lansing, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services of the Christian Science Church will begin at 3 p.m. Monday at Metcalf Chapel with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
