Betty June Nicholson, 86, of Fairfield, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday April 10, 2016, with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m., at Capps Memorial Chapel. Burial will be on Sunday, April 10, 2016, in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Franklin, Texas.

Betty June was born in the vanished community of Thermal, Alabama, to the late Ben and Della Beasley Allen. She married Charles Thomas Nicholson on September 11, 1951 in Oceanside, CA. Betty loved gardening, canning, sewing, and volunteering at charitable organizations in the Fairfield area where she had been a resident since the early 1970s. She was a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Fairfield Hospital Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, on February 7, 2008; and a son, Robert Coleman, of Fairfield on June 29, 2015.

Survivors include her daughters: Betty Ann Nicholson, Bobbi Bonner and husband, Andy, and Susan Taylor and husband, Terry, all of Fairfield, Candy Scott, of Weatherford, TX, and Lillian Parker, of Mexia; son, Richard Nicholson and wife, Sherry, of Fairfield; sister, Faye McCay, of Redding, California; sister-in-law, Betty Hoff, of Lewisville; other relatives and many friends.
