Lillian J. Gesund passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Danbury Hospital. She was born in The Bronx, NY and was 69 years old at the time of her death.

Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Anny Davidovitch Gesund, who were originally from Vienna, Austria.

Miss Gesund was a graduate of Buffalo State University and began a teaching career that lasted over 30 years. She was a Special Education teacher at Pembroke School in Danbury and she touched many lives along the way. A combination of wisdom and humor opened doors for countless students, their families and friends.

Forced to retire prematurely due to illness, Miss Gesund had to give up the most important thing in her life – helping her students. She will be sorely missed.

Her survivors include her sister, Ruth Goodling of Pennsylvania. Her two nephews: Michael Rosbach and Richard Rosbach. Three grandnieces and two grandnephews also survive.
Friends are invited to a Graveside Service that will be conducted at 1pm on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Ave., Paramus, NJ 07652 (201-262-1100) with the Rabbi Robert Wolf officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lillian's memory may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1215 4th Ave., Suite 1100, Seattle, WA 98161.
