Alyce was a wonderful, fun loving lady who loved the Lord. She was one of those people you just loved to be around.Alyce fought a long fight with cancer. She was a cancer survivor. You would never here her complain. If She was in pain you would never know it unless you asked her.She touched so many people's lives while she was here on earth. She loved reading the Bible and talking about the Lord Jesus Christ. She also enjoyed church, gospel music and spending time with family and freinds.Alyce was the daughter of James Robert Buford and Naomie Ellen Buford. She was formerly married to Everett Smiley and Stanley Crawford. They survive.Alyce was retired from the State of Illinois Department Of Employment Securities after 25 years of service. She was a member of the New life church of faith where she served on the Hospitality Department. And she was also a charter member of Heavenspeak Gospel Ensemble.Alyce leaves to cherish her memory son,Jasen(Kira) Smiley of Danville;three daughters,Jamie Watson,Jenifer Smiley and jacy Smiley;all of Danville.Seven grandchildren,Three brothers,James(Alfreda)Buford,David(Yvette)Buford and Robert(Stephanie)Buford all of Danvill.Three sisters, Trudy(Charles)Jones of Apple Valley Minn,Rebecca Buford-Cunningham of Danville and Patricia(steve}Willis of Peoria,Illinoise. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Only one chair on the porch today.
I packed yours up and put it away.
I sat alone in the late summer breeze
you promised me that you would sit with me.

Only one rocker-only one chair
I looked for you and you weren't there.
So I sat alone and watched the trees
and I realized you were lost to me

Only one chair out in the yard
I knew that this would be so hard
I sat alone and watched the snow
I just don't want to let you go

Only one chair at the window now
I'v struggled through the pain somehow
I sit alone as the spring draws near
I hate it that you're no longer here

We made a promise to never part
so I hold you gently in my heart
and there you'll stay and never leave
because,Big Sis,you promised me
