Funeral services were held July 27 at the Morgan Funeral Home for Charles Akerson, 69, a retired farmer, who died in a Caribou hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Perham March 31, 1890, and was the son of John and Annie Nelson Akerson.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Christine Dahlen Akerson of Perham; five daughters, Mrs. Ailene Buck of Caribou, Mrs. Delton (Martha) Jones of Anderson, CA, Mrs. Enid Hughes of Perham, Mrs. James (Vivian) Everitt and Mrs. Robert (Lula) Foss of Fort Fairfield; two sons, John and Chester of Perham; 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Reed Blackstone, pastor of the Advent Christian Church of Wade, officiated at funeral services.
Pallbearers were Guy Akerson, Vernon Akerson, Vincent Akerson, Dana Gallagher, Ralph Anderson and Roy Holmquist.
Burial was in the New Sweden Cemetery.
