Mr Anderson came to Stockholm from Sweden in 1902. In 1941 he moved to Belmont, Massachusetts, where he was a carpenter, builder and painter for 30 years.
Upon his retirement in 1971 he returned to Stockholm to make his home. He was a US Army Veteran of World War I and served in Germany and France. He was a member of the Perkins-Plourde Post American Legion in Stockholm.
In 1924 he was married to the former Ruth Olson. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in April 1974.
He is survived by three sons, Martin A. of Williamsville, N.Y., Harley H. of Lexington, Mass., Lloyd of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Gustave (Berdena) Peterson of Lexington, Mass., Mrs. John (Phyllis) Stranahan of Newton Upper Falls, Mass., Mrs. Fredrick (Lucille) Conway of Sharon, Mass., Mrs. Donald (Natalie) Dam of Tacoma, Wash.; 26 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at the funeral home Tuesday, September 30 with Rev Alan Nasman, pastor, First Baptist Church of Stockholm officiating. A military committal service will be conducted by the officers and members of the Perkins-Plourde Post American Legion in New Sweden Cemetery. Friends who wish may contribute to a Memorial Fund at the First Baptist Church of Stockholm in memory of Mr. Anderson.
