Alvie "Ab" Hunter, Jr., 96,passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Anson General Hospital. Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at the Anson Church of Christ. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home.

Born December 7, 1919 in Hawley, Ab was a son of the late Alvie and Louie (Trice) Hunter, Sr. He graduated from Hawley High School and married Bertha Daughtry June 1, 1939 in Hawley. Ab was a farmer and a rancher and a member of the Truby Church of Christ. He served on the Farm Bureau Board and the Noodle ISD school board.

Ab was preceded in death by his wife, one son (Tommy Hunter), one daughter (Dolores Adair), one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy Hunter (and wife, Judy) of El Campo; two daughters, Nancy Vancil of Garland and Margaret Johnson (and husband, Dwaine) of Abilene; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and eleven great great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home in Anson.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Anson Church of Christ Building Fund, 1400 Commercial, Anson, TX 79501 or to Anson Meals on Wheels 1225 Ave. J, Anson, TX 79501.
