Born in New York, Sam served as jet engine mechanic in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. After leaving the service, Sam worked as a marine mechanic and an auto service technician, employed by Coast Cadillac for over 25 years, and most recently employed by Jay and Dean's Auto Repair. Sam was active in the equestrian community.
Sam is survived by his wife, Karen, and children, Michael and Kathy (McGinnis). He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Konrad, Terri Thacker, and Carol Bechtel.
Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 21st at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
