Charles Methvin was born on December 30, 1937 to Willie T. and QLee Methvin. He went to Heaven on April 17, 2016 surrounded by his family. Charles was a sweet man with a beautiful smile that lit up the room. He was loved by so many people, especially his family and friends. He was easy to talk to, and he made everyone feel special. Charles had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed going on 100 mile bike rides, canoeing, sailing, camping, and listening to his vast music collection. He collected model trains and enjoyed building tracks for them. He was also an animal lover, enjoyed hot tea, and loved shooting pictures with his camera. He was a member of the El Karubah Shriners. He drove a Harley motorcycle in the circus and parades. He also sponsored many children who needed the help that Shriner’s hospital could provide. Charles fell in love with photography when he was 12. Over the years, his love of photography became his business. He will always be remembered through the many photographs he took of weddings, senior photos, and church directories.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents: Willie T. and QLee Snead Methvin; his brothers: Luther Wayne, Melvin, and W.T.; and his sisters: Bobbie Harris and Tru Rawls.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia, their children Ray, Glynda, Amanda, Valerie, Deanna, and Jeff; one brother, George; his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter; a host of nieces and nephews who he loved as his own; Aunt Rita Methvin, and many cousins he held dear to his heart.

Pallbearers will be Terrel Methvin, Chris Rawls, Brian Rawls, Wayne Rawls, Kyle Norred, and Lawrence Ledwig.

The family wishes to express a special thanks for the love, prayers and consideration from his church family and friends shown to them during this time.
