Caroline was the daughter of Captain John Bartlett Butler and Catherine Selina Gazzam.

She was the beloved wife of Dr. David Day.

Dear mother of David, Jr., Charles B., Alice, Lily and Gordon Butler.

Caroline seems like she was quite a character, and she was well-known and popular in early St. Paul society circles. In later years, she was interviewed several times by the newspapers in St. Paul about the pioneer days. She remarked on her 90th birthday that she stayed young by always seeing things through the eyes of "Sweet Sixteen."
