VIRGINIA ADAMS ALLENDORFER of Germantown, wife of the late William D.Allendorfer died Monday, October 9, 2006.Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday ,October 11, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 1 p.m. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a former member of the First Baptist Church in Charleston, Mississippi. She was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and attended Graduate School at the University of Alabama where she was a member of the Phi Mu Fraternity. She married Bill Allendorfer, a native of Nebraska. They lived in Europe for seven years, then returned to Charleston, MS before moving to Germantown in 1971. She was active in the East Shelby Republican Club where she served as secretary. She was a member of Germantown Theatre Board of Directors and was instrumental in forming the Germantown Theatre Auxiliary. For many years she was a member of Memphis Cotton Wives, The Ridgetrail Chapter of the DAR, Marion III King Daughters and Sons, Stage Set of Theatre Memphis and The Salvation Army Auxiliary. She was President of the The Beethoven Club for four years. She served as President of Dur-Arts and was an active member of The Duration Club for twenty five years. She was a member of Chickasaw Country Club. She is survived by a daughter, Joanne VanZandt; a son, John Allendorfer; and three grandchildren, Phillip VanZandt, Will and Ted Allendorfer.
