Cousin Mitchell lived his whole life in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated college as an English teacher and loved teaching. He was a people person and loved being on the phone with anyone. He had lots of stories to tell you whether you were family, friend or total stranger. He liked old TV programs. He was caregiver to both his parents and continued living in the family home long after they passed away. He and his father both doted on their pet birds who had cages to sleep in but the doors were open so they were free to fly all over the several storied house. He loved all animals and when he came to visit us he made quick friends with our beagle, Judy, who was afraid of all men after being abused by her previous owner as a puppy. Judy could tell Mitch was a good guy right away. Now Mitch was always saying, "Don't ever call me nice!" So I nicknamed him Meanie and he loved that, would not let me call him anything else from then on and told everyone his nickname.
