James "Jim" Pierce, 83, of Kiel and formerly of Brazil Indiana died peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born July 16, 1932, in Brazil, Indiana son of the late Earl & Bessie (Sawyer) Pierce. Jim attended Brazil Schools.

He was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving in Korea from 1950 to 1951. He later served with the Army National Guard for 8 ½ years. On May 30, 1952, he was united in marriage to Bobbie Boutwell in Phenix City, AL.

Jim had worked for more than 22 years at Alcan Aluminum and later Anaconda until his retirement. During that time Jim was also a professional painter, owning and operating Pierce Painting until just 2 years ago. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Brazil for 50 years serving as Deacon for the last 48 years. After relocating to Kiel, WI last year, Jim was a member of First Baptist Church where his son-in-law is pastor.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Bobbie, his children; Jo (Steven) Schultz, Kiel, Dan (Debra) Pierce, Fort Atkinson, WI, Robyn (Scott) Moore, Jacksonville, FL. 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Jim is further survived by his sister, Marie Baker and his brother, John Pierce.

He was preceded in death by his parents along with 13 brothers and sisters.

A celebration of Jim's life with family and friends taking part will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home (815 6th St. Kiel). Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am when services will be held. Burial will follow in the Kiel City Cemetery with Full Military Honors conducted by Kiel VFW Post #6707.

Jim's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Jim and his entire family.
