Lubbock, Texas - Anna Montgomery, 80 of Lubbock, Texas, passed away April 20, 2016. She was born February 11, 1936, in Pottsville, AR to Dewey O. and Louise Davis. After graduating from Lubbock High School in 1954 Anna went to work for the Federal Government at Reese Air Force Base and the U.S. Postal Service both in Lubbock, TX. Anna met her future husband while working at Reese. She and Russel Montgomery Jr. were married October 15, 1955 in New Mexico. They were the parents of Marcia Lear and Lisa Green, both of Lubbock.
Anna was an active member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years. She was a loving wife and devoted mother to her two girls.
Anna is survived by her daughters, Marcia Lear and Lisa Green (David) both of Lubbock; grand-children Lauren Graves (Kevin) from Snyder, TX., Austin Lear from San Antonio, TX, and Kyle Green of Lubbock; two step-granddaughters, Niki Seal (Dan) from Oak Harbor, WA and Megan Green from Angleton, TX.; two great-granddaughters Macie and Kaylee Graves of Snyder and one step great-granddaughter Kendall Seal of Oak Harbor, WA; sister Melba Watson of Dallas, brother Kenneth Davis (Pam) of Lubbock and sister-in-law Robbie Davis Bochantin of Alamo, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Russel Montgomery Jr.; her parents, Dewey O. and Louise Davis; one brother Dewey L. Davis; and one brother-in-law Leonard Watson. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the building fund of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 7702 Indiana Ave., Lubbock, TX 79423.
