Dr. Herbert Linne Benson, 81, formerly of Houston, Texas, Breckenridge, Colorado, and Georgetown, Texas, died on April 16, 2016, at home in Fairfax, Virginia. Mr. Benson was a senior research chemist for Shell Oil Company in Houston, Texas before retiring. Mr. Benson had lived in Virginia for the past five years.
Born April 26, 1934, the son of Herbert and Agnes (Danielson) Benson in Kansas City, Missouri, he graduated from Bethany College in Kansas and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy (Carlson) Benson of Fairfax; daughters Mary Stahlke of Forest Park, Illinois and Anne Miller of Annandale, a son, Mark Benson of Fairplay, Colorado, eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald L. Benson.
