Belmont - Dawn M. Hughes, 51, of 26 Turkey Drive in Belmont died May 1, 2005 at the Lakes Region General Hospital following a period of failing health. She was born in Laconia, March 27, 1954, the daughter of Francis M. and Elizabeth A. Lyons Hughes. She lived in Groton for over nine years before moving to Belmont in 2001. Dawn attended Laconia schools and Adult Education. She was honored to be chosen as Easter Seals Poster Child in her youth by the March of Dimes Foundation. She also attended the Vocational Training Center for Work Opportunities. Family and friends enjoyed her witty sense of humor and fighting spirit. She will be missed by her cat "Wee Bits." Dawn was predeceased by her parents in 1997.

Family members include four sisters, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 4 at 11 a.m. in Union Cemetery in Laconia with burial following. The William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton is assisting with arrangements. >The Citizen, Laconia, NH, May 2, 2005.
