Frances Lillian Jolliffe, 90, of Banks Township, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Charlevoix Area Hospital.

She was born Oct. 10, 1911, in Banks Township, the daughter of Ervin and Pearl (Santos) Lord.

On Sept. 29, 1928, she married William Jolliffe in Bellaire, and they made their home on the Jolliffe family farm in Banks Township.

She was a member of Norwood United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Banks Township Historical Society. She was an expert quilter and taught quilting classes in her home.

She enjoyed working outside in her flower and vegetable garden. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed visiting with her many friends and neighbors.

Surviving are her children, Richard (Esther) Jolliffe of Charlevoix, James (Jackie) Jolliffe of Grand Rapids, Fred (Joan) Jolliffe of Charlevoix, Robert (Noreen) Jolliffe of Charlevoix; daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Jolliffe, of Kalamazoo; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Margaret Derenzy, of East Jordan, sister-in-law, Catherine Lord, of Norwood; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jolliffe Sr., in 1977; her son, William Jolliffe Jr., in 1995; brothers, Stanley, Chuck and Jim; sister, Ellia Yettaw; and an infant grandson, Steven Jolliffe.
