JACQUARD, Emily Elizabeth – It is with great sorrow that we announce her sudden passing on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital at the age of 73. Born March 25, 1937, in Comeau’s Hill, Yarmouth Co., she was the eldest daughter of the late Frank and Angele (Boudreau) Fitzgerald. Her first love was her family. She enjoyed bingo, quilting, watching her hummingbirds and her flower garden. She especially enjoyed her time at Tim Horton’s with her husband and her friends. Emily grew up in Comeau’s Hill, where she married her childhood sweetheart on January 30, 1956. She will be sadly missed by husband of 54 years, George; daughters, Barbara Jacquard, Yarmouth; Donna (Darren) Deveau, Yarmouth; sons, Daniel (Charlotte), Comeau’s Hill; Michael (Sandra), Comeau’s Hill; Kevin and Henry, both of Yarmouth; sisters, Evelyn (Roland) Bourque, Amirault’s Hill; Angele Surette, Malden, Mass.; grandchildren, Jennifer Jacquard (Steve), Halifax; Jeremie (Stacy) Jacquard, Yellowknife; Timmy, Christian and Alicia, all of Yarmouth; great-granddaughter, Kourtni Beaulieu, Yellowknife. She was predeceased by brothers, Nectaire and Jean Louie in infancy and Henry; grandchild, Dominique Jacquard; great-grandson, Andrew Jacquard; daughter-in-law, Debbie. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. Visitation will take place Friday, October 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 8 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, October 9 at 10 a.m. from St. Gabriel Catholic Church with Monsignor Gerald LeBlanc officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Flowers are welcome.
